UPCYCLING, RECYCLING, ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT...
What is upcycling? What is the impact on the fashion industry? Why produce in Türkiye when you're a responsible brand? We answer all these questions, and more, in our journal.
THE BRAND
OUR AMBITION
One observation: the fashion industry, driven by fast fashion and ultra-fast fashion, has a growing environmental impact and is becoming a leading cause of ongoing climate change. One goal: to offer clothing with a lower impact and reduce textile waste for more responsible fashion.
ECO-RESPONSIBLE DESIGN
UPCYLING
- LEFTOVERS is committed to upcycling. By recovering end-of-roll and dormant stock, we give a second life to fabrics that would otherwise have been discarded. Rather than producing new materials, we choose to repurpose existing ones to create new, sustainable, and high-quality clothing. This is both a strong ecological commitment and a way to offer more responsible, more creative, and more conscious fashion.

REDUCED ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT
- Due to the use of upcycled fabrics, the choice of a manufacturing country with less carbon energy and the durability of our products, the environmental impact of our clothing is lower.
- For example, a LEFTOVERS hoodie has an environmental cost of 495 points, and a carbon footprint of 2.29 kgCO₂e. Impact calculation ->
- By comparison, an equivalent fast-fashion product made in Bangladesh costs 4,969 points and 30.29 kgCO₂e.
ZERO WASTE
- By reusing discarded fabrics, the upcycling approach we implement helps reduce textile waste.
- This zero-waste approach challenges traditional manufacturing methods by seeking to eliminate material scraps and reintegrate residual waste into the production cycle, and significantly reduces the environmental footprint.
TRANSPARENCY & ETHICS
- The country of production of the fabrics (spinning/weaving/dyeing), as well as the name of the manufacturing workshop are indicated transparently in the descriptions of each product.
- All our garments are made in a factory located in Istanbul, Turkey, which is independently audited annually by Intertek . The audit carried out is the SMETA developed by Sedex. Recognized worldwide, this audit assesses labor, health and safety, environmental performance, and ethical standards.
